The Story Structure Session
We’ll begin with the story you want to tell.
Before we meet, you'll send a synopsis, an outline or scene list (if you have one) and up to 2500 words of your manuscript (≈10 pages.)
I’ll read your sample in advance so we have a shared starting point.
During our session, we'll explore the central conflict and what drives the story forward, including how character choices shape the plot. We'll look at the turning points, complications, and movement toward the ending, and how the story’s different elements support its overall arc. And we'll recognize structural strengths, opportunities, and possibilities for further development.
We’ll also look at your opening pages in the context of the larger story.
You'll leave with a clearer understanding of your story's structure, fresh insights into its possibilities, and a sense of what to do next.
Investment: $400
Your investment can be applied toward a longer review.
Some writers begin here and later move into The First Fifty or a Full Manuscript Review, depending on what the work needs. Each editorial service is credited toward the next, so you'll never pay twice for an earlier step.
From a writer I’ve worked with:
Katherine Grace Bond
is a developmental editor and writing coach who has spent more than three decades working with writers. She is the author of seven books, including The Summer of No Regrets (Sourcebooks) and The Legend of the Valentine (Zondervan), and three poetry collections, including the recent 20th Anniversary Edition of Considering Flight (Goldfish Press).
She works primarily with novelists, memoirists, and writers of story-driven nonfiction, helping them see their work clearly and move it forward.
